Break is a feel-good narrative about rags to riches. An inner-city gifted child wasted his abilities on petty criminality, Spencer Pryde (Sam Gittins). A accidental encounter with a Chinese stranger and former eight-ball pool champion Vincent Quiang (David Yip) gives Spencer with an opportunity to turn his life around after seeing his comrade Denis' violent murder and being indebted to a drug peddling gangster named Ginger. But before Spencer can start a new life, he must first overcome the negative influences of his friends, family, and environment.
