Candles on Bay Street
Following a 13-year absence with her partner, DeeDee returns with her kid Trooper. He and his wife Lydia are the town's veterinarians. The fact that Sam says they were best friends growing up and DeeDee was his first crush makes Lydia nervous. But DeeDee and Trooper's lovely helpfulness and friendliness win the hearts of the town. By hosting weekly candle making parties, DeeDee and Lydia become fast friends. She tells Sam she's unwell and wants his help finding a nice home to adopt Trooper during dinner with Lydia and Sam. Sam informs Lydia what happened and they resolve to adopt Trooper if/when DeeDee dies.
