The Hardys want to spend a quiet evening in their apartment, but they are interrupted when the Laurels arrive. Stan and Ollie go out for ice cream and manage to stop a shrewd woman from committing suicide on the way home. The woman is ungrateful and threatens them unless they look after her. They have a frantic evening trying to keep her hidden from their wives.
