Harry Dalton, a volcanologist, arrives in Dante's Peak to explore the frequent rumblings of the dormant volcano the town is named for. When a big eruption occurs, Harry, the mayor, and the citizens of the town are thrust into the middle of a terrifying nightmare for which they must battle for their lives.
