Matteo is a successful young businessman who is bold, charming, and energetic. Ettore, on the other hand, is a quiet, righteous second grade teacher who is perpetually hidden in the shadows, still in the small village from which both hail. They are brothers, however they have polar opposite personalities. A catastrophic situation forces them to live together in Rome for a few months, forcing them to confront their differences with compassion and sensitivity, culminating in a climax of terror and euphoria.
