Guest Artist
At Christmastime, Joseph Harris, a famed but troubled playwright, arrives in a small Michigan town to stage his latest play. A young, aspiring writer greets the jaded New Yorker, challenging his literary idol to be the icon he'd hoped for. Harris has no desire to be a hero to the young man, nor does he want to be a part of Michigan or its small-town theater. Harris makes preparations to return to New York on the next train out as soon as he arrives. Desperate to keep his hero in town, the young guy must confront his hero and explore the tangled interplay between youth's dreams and age's wisdom.
