When young attorney Rick Hayes starts a new employment, he is given the responsibility of handling the clemency petition of Cindy Liggett, a woman who was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to death. While Hayes is looking into the history of her case, the two of them start to develop a close bond. However, the day that she is scheduled to be executed is becoming closer all the time.
