Mum and Dad work at the airport, as do their 'adopted' children, Birdie and Elbie. The family survives on scraps from cargo holds, offices, and hotels, as well as a steady stream of transient workers who populate the airport's soulless hub. When Birdie befriends Lena, a young Polish office cleaner, she is drawn into a nightmare world of torture, murder, and perversity.
