In the mid-twentieth century, Alice Mitchell works as a prostitute on the street. After her situation aggravates, she unsuccessfully tries to fix up with her estranged household over her homosexuality. She nestles at a Christian household and also wins them over by incorrectly embracing their faith, in spite of opposition from their in-law, Lillian.
