Ryo Aihara is a quiet, timid girl who doesn't feel confident in herself and has trouble making friends. Her desire to connect with others is tempered by her inability to speak up and carry on a conversation like everyone else. It seems like her words never come out right when she tries to say them. Ryo, a shy and withdrawn college student, has grown accustomed to his life of isolation. Since Ryo has no one to communicate with, he has no need for a mobile phone. To satisfy her need for social interaction, she imagines calling her friends on a mental cell phone, and to her delight, one day Shinya actually answers. Ryo has finally met a someone she can confide in.
