Amalia and Georg work together at a small Hungarian perfumery and have always disliked each other. He thinks she's pretentious, and she thinks he's arrogant and cruel. When the workday is done, however, each rapturously writes to a lonely hearts pen pal, and it doesn't take long for the audience to realize that they're in love without realizing it.
