Parts equal According to Sicilian Vampire, alleged mobster Sonny Traficante wanted to escape to the family hunting lodge for some rest and leisure. He had a night he'll never forget instead. One of the bats that they brought up to the resort bites Sonny. Once Sonny is bitten, the bat flees into the night. Sonny gains supersonic hearing, increased vision, superhuman strength, and even the capacity to communicate with the dead from that point forward. He feels a responsibility to rectify wrongs in his life and protect people he loves as a result of these newfound abilities. He initially rejects his newfound abilities, but eventually accepts them.
