Rike is forty years old and a successful doctor whose career demands that she give her all. She planned to utilize her much-needed annual vacation to achieve a long-held ambition of sailing alone from Gibraltar to Ascension, a little tropical island in the middle of the Atlantic that she has been dreaming about for years. The vacation she's been dreaming of appears to be coming true, but after a storm, her idyllic getaway is transformed into an unprecedented challenge when she comes across a badly broken, dangerously overloaded refugee boat nearby.
