Jake Blues has recently been released from prison, and he and his brother Elwood have decided to embark on a self-proclaimed "mission from God" to gather money for the orphanage where they both spent their formative years. They are limited to the one thing that they are good at, which is playing music. As a result, they reunite their previous band and embark on their journey, all the while getting themselves into some scrapes along the way.
