It's all about Bernard, a friend of Olivier's who is preparing for his bac. He finds out that he is a bastard and runs away from home. He sleeps in Olivier's bed for a night (where Olivier describes a recent visit to a prostitute and how he did not find the experience very enjoyable). Edouard's nephew Bernard stole a suitcase from Edouard's house, which caused a lot of problems for him and his family. Bernard is now Edouard's secretary. Comte de Passavant, who goes with Olivier to the Mediterranean, is cynical and even a little bit evil.
