The First Time
High school friends Kenny Leeds, Mike Decker, and Tommy Kingsley are excited for the summer because it will be their first taste of the pleasures of manhood. That's not what happens. Kenny is sent to stay with his grandparents in Buffalo while his father, a widowed salesman, goes on a business trip with his secretary-fiancée, who is also his mother. Letters Kenny wrote to two of his friends about his adventures at "Rosie's," a fake brothel across the Canadian border in Niagara Falls. He was bored and alone in a new city. As soon as he lies, it backfires on him.
