Gypo Nolan is a former member of the Irish Republican Army who uses alcohol to drown his sorrows. He's desperate to get out of Dublin and start a new life with his sweetheart in America. Gypo cooperates when British authorities offer a reward for information regarding his best friend, current IRA member Frankie. Gypo may now purchase two tickets on a boat going for the United States, but will he be able to escape the anguish he feels for betraying his friend?
