A pair of rebellious teens from Southern California, Joan Jett and Cherie Currie, go on to become the frontwomen for the Runaways, a now-legendary band that paved the way for subsequent generations of female rockers. As a result of impresario Kim Fowley's Svengali-like influence, the band achieves enormous commercial success.
