Antonio Gaudí
Catalan architect Antoni Gaud (1852-1926) created some of the world's most stunning buildings, interiors, and parks; Japanese director Hiroshi Teshigahara created some of the most aesthetically daring films of the second half of the twentieth century. Their talents come together in this film to create a one-of-a-kind, enthralling cinematic experience. Teshigahara's Antoni Gaud is more of a visual poem than a documentary, taking viewers on a tour of Gaud's truly spectacular architecture, including his massive still-unfinished masterpiece, Barcelona's Sagrada Familia cathedral. Teshigahara immortalizes Gaud on film with camerawork as bold and sensual as the curves on his subject's organic surfaces.
