Harbinger Down
Passengers on the fishing boat Harbinger have signed up to study the effects of global warming on an Orca pod in the Bering Sea, and they're going to do it on the boat. People on the ship get into a lot of trouble when they find some recently thawed Soviet space junk. It looks like the Russians tried out tardigrades, which are small, hardy animals that can withstand the extremes of space radiation. The creatures were able to live, but not without changing. Now the crew has to deal with aggressively changing organisms. So even though they've been frozen in ice for three decades, the animals aren't going to give up the warmth of human company.
