Portrait of Kaye
Kaye has spent most of her life in her parents' house due to agoraphobia. Finding comfort in ancient film stars' faces and lives, she pastes their photographs with those of her deceased family on her house's walls, producing a kaleidoscopic collage that merges personal history with Hollywood fantasy. Depiction of Kaye is a bittersweet portrait of a woman forging her own personality while negotiating her mother's bawdy humour and father's concerns. Her fascination with a younger neighbour allows her to explore personal and sexual liberties. Ben Reed, a former next-door neighbor and music video director, shot this over two years.
