Toni

People who want to work in the quarries or farming come to Provence in the 1920s, where it is a good place to live. As for Toni, an Italian, and Marie, a Frenchwoman who live together, they've been living together for a long time. Even a well-ordered life isn't safe from boredom, friendship, love, or enmity, and Toni gets caught in a web of more and more intense relationships. Then there's Fernand, who is Fernand's best friend, and Albert, his overbearing foreman. Sebastian is a steady Spanish peasant, but Gabi, Fernand's young rogue relative, also lives there. Marie and Josefa are Fernand's friends, too.
