Walkabout

A geologist takes his teenage daughter and 6-year-old son into the Australian bush under the guise of a picnic and attempts to shoot them. When he fails, he turns the pistol on himself, leaving the two city kids alone in the cold countryside. They are saved by a fortunate encounter with an Aborigine youngster, who teaches them how to survive while highlighting the disconnect between nature and urban life.
