Why Do Fools Fall In Love
Morris Levy is an entertainment manager in New York City. In the mid-80s, three women (each with an attorney) show up at his office. All three people are from Philadelphia, but one is a former member of the Platters who now lives in Los Angeles. The other two are small-time thieves who live in small Georgia towns and go to school. Each woman claims to be the widow of Frankie Lyman, a doo-wop singer and songwriter who died a long time ago. They both want years of royalties from his estate, money that Levy has never shared with either of them. Every time there's a civil trial, flashbacks tell the story of how each person's life with Lyman, who was an energetic, boyish performer who died from heroin, was shown. There are three wives who start to form their own group.
