Big Day
Big Day, formerly named A Day in the Life, is an American situation comedy that first aired on ABC from November 28, 2006 to January 1, 2007. The series was co-produced by Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa for Sony Pictures Television and directed by Michael Spiller. The series aired on CanWest's Global and CH stations in Canada. It was originally scheduled to premiere on October 5, 2006, alongside Notes from the Underbelly, but ABC made a last-minute schedule alteration by moving Ugly Betty to Thursday, thereby replacing both sitcoms whose "buzz" was not particularly encouraging. Big Day aired on Tuesday nights at 9:00/8:00c. ABC rescheduled The Knights of Prosperity to Wednesdays in order to prioritize Big Day. The Knights of Prosperity was a new sitcom with a greater "buzz" than Big Day. Big Day turned out to be a ratings letdown, according to the ratings. When Big Day's first season concluded on January 30, 2007, only 12 of the 13 produced episodes were aired, leaving The $10,000 Check unaired. ABC officially canceled the show on May 15, 2007, after announcing their autumn lineup for 2007-2008. A film based on the television series was canceled twice between 2007 and 2008. A remake of the film adaptation is now under Pre-Production in 2010.
