Dancing with the Stars
Logie Award-winning reality show Dancing with the Stars airs on the Seven Network and is shot live from the HSV-7 studios in Melbourne, Australia Dancing with the Stars: Strictly Come Dancing is a spinoff of BBC Worldwide's international Dancing with the Stars franchise. The show premiered in October and November 2004, then returned in February 2005 for a two-month run. Seven Network has renewed the show for a ninth season. During its height, the show attracts an average of 2 million people per week, making it the most-watched show of the day. The show pairs famous people with professional ballroom dancers, and each week they compete against each other in a dance-off to try to impress a panel of judges and, ultimately, the viewers so they don't get kicked off the show. People cast their votes for the couple they believe should remain in competition by telephone and SMS voting. When it comes time to eliminate a team, the scores of the judges and the votes of the audience are added together. The thirteenth season will be hosted by Daniel MacPherson and Edwina Bartholomew in 2013. Dancing with the Stars' first seven seasons logo bears a striking resemblance to Strictly Come Dancing's logo. The logo used for the eighth season and beyond is similar to the one used for the US version of Dancing with the Stars.
