There are four creators behind the show: Michael Duggan and Carol Flint; producers Mark Levin and Billy Ray; the show was produced by Amblin Entertainment and Universal Television and shot mostly in and around the Santa Fe area of northern New Mexico. Executive producers Michael Duggan, Mark Levin, and Carol Flint worked with composer David Bergeaud on the score. The show's audience was initially extremely high, reaching eighth place; however, Nielsen ratings share decreased from 23 percent to 9 percent by April 23 of the following year. It was nominated for a Primetime Emmy, a Saturn Award, and other honors during its tenure. It was released on DVD in a four-disc collection in 2005.
