Out of This World
Out Of This World is an American fantasy sitcom about a teen girl who is half-alien and has supernatural abilities. From September 17, 1987, through May 25, 1991, it was broadcast in syndication. The show debuted as part of NBC's Prime Time Begins at 7:30 promotion, which saw the network's owned-and-operated stations air first-run comedies in the 7:30-8 pm time slot to counteract competing stations' game shows, comedy reruns, and other programming. Out of This World was shown in rotation alongside the original shows Marblehead Manor and She's the Sheriff, as well as a syndicated revival of the 1983 sitcom We Got It Made and a television production of the play You Can't Take It With You. Three of the programs were cancelled after the 1987-88 season due to low ratings, with Out of This World being one of the two that was renewed. The series was mostly relocated to weekend time slots after its first season, where it remained until its termination following the fourth season.
