Salute Your Shorts ran on Nickelodeon from 1991 to 1992 and reruns until 1999. Salute Your Shorts: Life at Summer Camp by Steve Slavkin was the basis. The series was recorded at Franklin Canyon Park and the Griffith Park Boys Camp in Los Angeles' Griffith Park. It focuses on teenage campers, their harsh counselor, and their capers and pranks. The title comes from a camp prank: raising a boy's boxer shorts on a flagpole. When they wave like a flag, other youngsters salute them as a prank.
