Samurai 7
Produced by Gonzo in2004, Samurai 7 is an anime television series that is based on Akira Kurosawa's highly praised film Seven Samurai, which was released in 1954. Toshifumi Takizawa was the one responsible for the series' direction, and Kaoru Wada and Eitetsu Hayashi were the ones who composed the show's music. There are a total of 26 episodes, and the production budget for each one was approximately $32,500,000. After having its debut in Japan on the anime satellite television network Animax as an exclusive high definition CS-PPV broadcast, the series was later aired by the network on its other respective networks worldwide, including Southeast Asia, South Asia, Latin America, and other regions. In Japan, the series had its debut on Animax. Funimation Entertainment has secured the rights to produce a dubbed version for the North American release. Previously, in April of2006, it was broadcast in the United States by the Independent Film Channel, and it was also broadcast in high definition on the Animania HD channel of Dish Network. In addition, it has been shown all over Canada on the specialist channel Razer, as well as all over Hong Kong on TVB Jade. On September6,2010, the series made its debut on the Funimation Channel. On August19,2012, it made its debut as part of Adult Swim's newly revitalized Toonami block, and it aired there until February10, 2013.
