That Girl
The American comedy That Girl aired on ABC from 1966 until 1971. Marlo Thomas plays Ann Marie, an ambitious actress who moves to New York City from her village of Brewster. In between her multiple auditions and tiny parts, Ann has to take a lot of odd "temp" jobs to help support herself. Ted Bessell portrayed her lover, Newsview Magazine writer Donald Hollinger, while Lew Parker and Rosemary DeCamp portrayed her concerned parents, Lew Marie and Helen Marie. Ann and Donald were played by Bernie Kopell, Ruth Buzzi, and Reva Rose. Bill Persky and Sam Denoff, who had previously worked as head writers on The Dick Van Dyke Show in the 1960s, came up with the concept for That Girl.
