The Aviators
The Aviators is a weekly documentary-lifestyle-science TV series covering interesting personalities, new aircraft, and fly-in places. The show's website highlights topics: "We'll show you how pilots train, planes are made, and ATC functions. We'll highlight aviation companies and goods. We'll give private and recreational pilots safety recommendations and professional pilots employment advice." The Aviators debuted on GTV on September 4, 2010. It aired on CHEK-TV in Canada and on all 356 Public Broadcasting Stations in the U.S. in September 2010. On September 1, 2010, producers confirmed a contract with Discovery Channel Asia to show the series worldwide in spring 2011. In its first six months, the show broadcast about 8,000 times in North America, or over 40 times a day. The Aviators was viewed 32,000 times in two weeks after it debuted on Hulu in February 2011. George Canyon was added as a guest host for season two in March 2011. Season debut is September 16, 2013. The fifth season will air in September 2014 in North America.
