The Six Million Dollar Man

The Six Million Dollar Man is an American television series about a bionic-implanted former astronaut who works for the fictional government agency OSI. The series is based on the novel Cyborg by Martin Caidin, which was the series' suggested title during pre-production. The Six Million Dollar Man was a regular series on the ABC network from 1974 to 1978, following three television pictures that aired in 1973. Lee Majors, who later became a pop culture phenomenon of the 1970s, played the title role of Steve Austin. The Bionic Woman, a spin-off series, aired from 1976 to 1978. Between 1987 and 1994, other television movies starring both eponymous characters were also made.
