The Way We Were
Xiao Qing is currently studying in the United States on a student exchange. She is quite proud of her father's accomplishments as a courageous prosecutor back home, and she takes after him in this regard. Xiao Qing's father is a just and honorable judge, and she strives to live her life according to the same principles he taught her. Xiao Qing is a fellow student in Shu Che's class. In contrast to Xiao Qing's father, Shu Che's father is not quite as morally upright. The father of Shu Che has been involved in a number of dubious business transactions due to his position as a government official. Because of these partnerships, he has made a lot of opportunities available to his kid. But Shu Che has no interest in participating in anything like that. When Xiao Qing and Shu Che first meet, they immediately fall in love with one another. But their romantic relationship is irrevocably altered when their parents get into a court dispute with one another. The couple comes to the realization that they can never again be the same as they were in the past while they are juggling the competing demands of their love and their sense of duty.
